Introduction:

The Taiwan Cement Corporation was officially transformed from a state-owned enterprise to a public company in 1954. The first shareholders’ meeting was held in the Tri-Service Gymnasium at the square in front of the Presidential Palace on November 11, 11am.

Lin You-Long of the Family Lin in Wufeng, Yan Qin-Xian from the Family in Keelung, Chen Qi-Qing from the Family Chen in Kaohsiung, the former Chairman Lin Bo-Shou, and the former senior Chairman Koo Chen-Fu witnessed this great moment in the history and the story of an enterprise ready to go as a token of the brand in Taiwan.

In 1962, Taiwan Cement became the first IPO company in Taiwan with the stock number of 1101 and Koo Chen-Fu officially took over the position of chairman in 1973. The "Taiwan Ten Major Construction Projects" were launched in 1974. Taiwan Cement followed the policy of the government and promoted development projects actively to build a whole new world in Taiwan. Like a pioneer leading the followers, Chairman Koo sustained carried great responsibilities for the development of Taiwan Cement and execution of the diplomatic missions of the country. From PBEC, PECC, APEC to the Koo-Wang Talks, he broke open a way through tremendous obstructions in the international community and led Taiwan to overcome challenges and march forward to a wonderland full of resources. Taiwan Cement grew with the development of Taiwan and went forward following the steps of the international community. Those construction projects that started from nothing created the economic miracle and made modern life possible in Taiwan. The results remain in our daily life.
