The taste and consistent high quality of Banvit chicken is the result of careful controls that are carried out at every stage of production. Hygiene is the most significant responsibility of a food company. Being fully conscious of this responsibility, hygiene checks and control procedures are in place for workers, equipment and raw material. Two shifts of slaughter and one shift of cleaning are performed in the plant, and the quality of cleaning and disinfecting is checked daily by the quality assurance department.
Keeping abreast of technological developments is a basic principle in Banvit. However, when applying new technology its effects on the environment must be considered. For instance, LPG is always used as it causes less pollution than other fuels such as fuel-oil or coal. More recently, with the availability of natural gas in the Bandırma area, the processing plant has switched to using it. The solid and liquid wastes removed from the processing plant are also utilized. The waste water from the processing plant is treated in the treatment plant and its outlet water values are checked regularly. Most of the recycled water is used for gardening and cleaning.
The analysis and measurement of the quality of water from the treatment plant and emissions from the chimneys are within the limits determined by the environmental regulations. Through compliance with these regulations, Banvit continues to demonstrate its concern for the environment.
