Introduction:

The flight history of the capital airport begins on May 4, 1975, when the first regular flight No. 613-614 was opened on the route – Moscow, Domodedovo – Frunze, Manas. This is the date considered to be the birthday of the main air harbor of the Republic. The well-known writer, Chingiz Aitmatov, gave the name to the "newborn" airport, in honor of Manas, the great hero of the Kyrgyz epos.

In 1992, by decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the aviation harbor became part of the established National Air Company Kyrgyzstan Aba Zholdoru.

In 1993, a significant event occurred - Kyrgyzstan became a full member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

In 1994, the first international flight Bishkek-Istanbul was opened.

In 2001, in accordance with the Concept of Denationalization and Privatization of JSC National Air Company Kyrgyzstan Aba Zholdoru, its reorganization was completed dividing into three separate structures:

JSC National Air Carrier Kyrgyzstan Aba Zholdoru
JSC Manas International Airport
State Enterprise Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia

In April 2001, the joint stock company Manas International Airport was reorganized into an independent enterprise, and from May 15 of the same year began to operate as an independent legal entity.

In 2016, the enterprise celebrated the 15th anniversary as from the date of JSC MIA establishment. A huge work has been done to expand and develop the country's airports; dozens of large-scale projects have been implemented during this period. New perspective directions have been taken, providing a platform for the development of JSC MIA, as a modern and comfortable airport complex.
